After seeing on Facebook that the £1 fair was back at Northampton racecourse we thought it would rude not to head over and have a few rides. We went over the Bank holiday weekend which ended up being surprisingly warm and sunny (very unusual for a UK Bank Holiday weekend).
We generally don't do fairs that much anymore. Robert and I can't always handle the pace as we get older but Rebecca seems to love spinning rides. We did quite a few rides. Spent around £35 which isn't too bad considering most fairs are £3 per person.
What I like about this Scarrott's fair is the good mix of rides available. There are lots of kids rides and inflatables, a decent number of family/thrill rides all for £1 each.
I got to have a go on the Vortex which wasn't available the last time we visited this fair (back in May). Its similar to Maelstrom at Drayton Manor but a fair bit smaller. Its a good ride, not as smooth starting up as the theme park versions but a decent ride. Only issue I had was that the restraints really pin you legs down so when you get the pops of airtime it is a little bit uncomfortable.
Overall, its a decent fair and well worth a visit for a couple of hours. It will be at the Northampton Racecourse until Sunday September 3rd 2017 and free parking is available next to the fair.
