Date of visit: Saturday 17th October 2020
Before I go in to anything else, I thought I would touch on COVID 19 measures first. No temperature checks on entering the park. Once you are in there are Hand Sanitiser dispensers everywhere. Every ride has one on exit and you are encouraged to use them. There are floor markings in all the ride queue lines as well as at the food outlets.
Overall, we felt very safe at Paulton’s on our visit.
Who is Paulton’s Park suitable for?
Paulton’s is suitable for the whole family no matter what their age. Even the grandparents will find something to ride here.
How much is it?
We paid £105 for family of 3 ticket. I purchased these online and downloaded the tickets to the Paulton’s App.
Can you spend all day here?
Yes very much so. There is a lot to do and we find we can’t fit everything in.
Is the park easy to get around?
Yes, however as a first timer it can be quite confusing as there a lot of paths. Paulton’s has a lot of open space within the park so a lot of paths will take you through these areas to get to the rides. Once you have done one circuit of the park, you won’t have any issues.
What rollercoasters are at the park?
There are a total of 6 rollercoasters here:
1. Dino Chase - Zierer Tivoli (small)
2. Cat-O-Pillar - Zierer Tivoli (medium)
3. Velociraptor – Vekoma Junior Boomerang
4. Flight of the Pterosaur – Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster
5. Cobra - Gerstlauer Bobsled Coaster
6. Storm Chaser – Mack Rides Spinning coaster, opening in 2021.
Is there a good selection of rides?
Yes. You have Peppa Pig World which has lots of smaller rides such as carousels and track rides for the littles ones. You then have a good selection or larger family rides like a Log Flume and Chair Swings plus 6 rollercoasters.
Is there plenty of other things to do?
You have the rides, a splash park (in the summer), playgrounds, animals and gardens to explore. There is something for everyone here.
What are the food and drink options like?
There is a large family restaurant at the entrance of the park that serve “pub” style meals. You then have lots of little outlets across the park that sell various items such as Hot dogs, burgers, wraps as well desserts such as ice cream, waffles and doughnuts to name a few.
Can you take a Picnic in to the park?
Yes and we have done so in the past. We hire a locker for the day (£1 each time it is locked) and store our food in there to save us carrying it around.
Does the park hold any events?
There are events. I would recommend checking the website. At the time of writing, they are currently doing the Spooktacular Halloween event and in late November will start the Christmas Event.
They do also offer early entrance in to Peppa Pig world for a fee, again check the website for more details.
Is it worth the journey or an overnight stay?
Definitely. You could easily spend 2 days at this park. It is our favourite UK Theme Park.
Paulton’s has a lot to offer families. Because of the range of rides and attractions no one in the family will get bored. Paulton’s have spent a lot of time and money over the last 5 years expanding the park and adding incredible new areas, such as Peppa Pig World, Lost Kingdom and next year, Tornado Springs. If you haven’t visited, then I would highly recommend that you do.
