Paultons Park Review - May 2015
We arrived at Paultons 45mins later than planned due to traffic. Car park is very easy to find as it is sign posted from the entrance. Entrance area is one of the nicest we have seen – very clean. We purchased our tickets online so where able to go straight to the turnstiles for entry. Staff were very pleasant and friendly and we were admitted very quickly.
Once in the park we headed to the right hand side which is home to Peppa Pig World. We had our first ride on Cat-o-Pillar which is the parks family rollercoaster. RJ wasn’t sure at first, but was smiling on her 2nd go. We did a few of rides in the area which were ok for RJ (she is 92cms) and then headed over to Peppa Pig World.
This section of the park has been created so you feel like you are in Peppa’s world and the Paultons have done a fantastic job at this. The whole area is beautifully done – the fencing, flowers everything looks like it has been pulled from an episode of Peppa Pig.
After we had done most of the rides in Peppa Pig world we headed back to the entrance to eat in the Wildwoods family restaurant. It is a very nice place to sit and eat – very light and airy. Robert had the Lasagna, I had the pulled pork bap and RJ had the child’s chicken nugget meal. Meals came out very quickly (6 mins from ordering) and staff were very friendly. Have to say we all enjoyed it very much and for the 3 of us including a drink each was £29.
After lunch we decided to hire a pushchair as it was quicker for us to push RJ around then letting her walk everywhere. We headed over to the other side of the park which was home to The Cobra, the parks “big” rollercoaster plus Magma & The Edge. We did a couple of small rides along the way.
Once we had got our coaster credit we headed back over to Peppa Pig world to have a few more goes on the rides before heading home. We were unfortunate that Miss Rabbits Helicopters broke down whilst we were on it (first time in 15 years we have been stuck on a ride) so we missed the Peppa & George meet and greet. On our way towards the exit we grabbed an ice cream and tea/coffee.
One thing we did notice was how clean and tidy this park was. It was by far the best we have seen in the UK. Staff were cleaning windows and various areas whilst we were there and even cleaning the rides after a bird had targeted them .
Would we go again: Yes most definitely. Rebecca really enjoyed herself and whilst the park doesn't have massive rides there was certainly enough for her to really enjoy her day which meant we would enjoy it.
Best Ride: RJ loved George’s Dinosaur Ride the best and she liked Daddy pigs car ride & the tractor ride too mainly because they had a steering wheel she could play with.
RATINGS:
Rides & Attractions: 4/5
There is a good range of attractions for those over 90cms plus the Peppa Pig Attractions for those who are shorter.
Peppa Pig World: 5/5
I have to say this area is absolutely fantastic. Any Peppa Pig fan will recognise so much from the show. The whole area feels like you are in Peppa's world. It is bright and colourful and just perfect. The rides are good too and themed around things from the show which the children know and point out. We couldn't fault this area.
Food & Drink: 4/5
The food we did have at the park was very nice, well presented and reasonable value for money. We spent a total of £38 on food & drink whilst we were there.
Staff: 5/5
All the staff we came across were very friendly. Very polite and patient with all the little ones.
Cleanliness: 5/5
This was the one thing we were surprised by as I don’t think we have ever been to a UK park as clean and tidy as this one. The park is so well looked after and to see people cleaning during park open hours was really nice.
Overall: 4.5/5
Fabulous little park. For us it needs a few more rides & attractions but once they open the new area next year then maybe Paultons will get a 5/5 review. The staff were great, the food is good, there are plenty of rides what more could you ask for.
