Paultons Park
REVIEW JUNE 2016

Rides
There is a good selection of rides at Paultons.  With Peppa Pig world for the young ones and now the Lost Kingdom for the older ones there is more than enough to keep everyone busy all day.

Our main reason of visiting was to see the Lost Kingdom and it didn't disappoint.  It is a stunning addition to the park and the new inverted rollercoaster, The Flight of the Pterosaur, was a fun and intense rollercoaster for it's size.  The whole area fits in perfectly with everything in it and the rides are fabulous.  Paultons have really put UK Theme parks on the map with this area and set a very high bench mark for other UK parks to follow.

Onride Photos
I don't normally comment on these but i thought I would on this occasion as I really like what Paultons offer.  On ride photos are £9 each.  Paultons offer a photo pass which gives you 4 items (choose from a photo, keyring or magnet) plus a digital download.  this pass costs £25 and doesn't have to be used on the same visit.  (We used our two vouchers from last year on our visit)

I really wish all parks would offer something like this as I don't mind paying up to £25 for 4 photos.

Staff
Staff are always friendly here.  Due to us being coaster fans, we normally get a few comments on our tshirts as people regonise the logo and we normally have a chat.

Food & Drink
We ate at the outlet in Lost Kingdom which sold chicken meals.  Robert had the chicken wrap, I had the chicken nuggets and Rebecca had the childs popcorn chicken.  The meals were ok.  Small for the money you pay but perfectly edible.  Adult meals are £6.45 and a child's meal was £4.45.  They all came with fries and a drink.

We also had an ice cream later in the afternoon.  For 3 ice creams it was £8.55.  Quite expensive really.

I grabbed a cup of tea on my way out.  It has to been the smallest tea I have ever bought and the most expensive.  I was a 8oz paper cup for £1.65.

Merchandise
Very little merchandise for the park itself.  Few pens, magnets, keyrings but that is pretty much it.  The main store on exit didn't have any of the lost kingdom stuff in it so we were a little disappointed that we didn't get to see if they had a magnet for our collection.   I really fancy a Paultons Park or even a lost kingdom mug but unfortunately I didn't see one.

Shops/Market
 There are a few shops within the park.  Peppa Pig World has its own shop in the area of the park.  Its sells everything Peppa pig - clothing (kids & adults), accessories, toys etc.  You then have Outpost 13 which is the new shop in the Lost Kingdom area.  Then the main shop which you have to go through to exit the park.  This shop has a little bit of Paultons merchandise, lots of sweet treats and again more toys from various TV shows (including Paw Patrol which Rebecca loved)

Side stalls
 As with all parks there are a number of side stalls across the park.  Rebecca had a go on the new one in the Lost kingdom area.  Basically you have to pick 2 floating dinosaurs out of the water and add the two numbers on the bottom up to work out what size prize you can choose.  We managed to get the smallest one available.  This was £4 a go and quite expensive for the small 20p toy you get as a prize.

Prices
We booked our tickets online.  Paultons offer a family of 3 ticket for £74.75 (plus £1.50 booking fee).
Anyone under 1m can get in the park for Free.

Highlight of the Day
* Lost Kingdom
* The Flight of the Pterosaur being Rebecca's 20th Rollercoaster.
* Dino Chase - certain Rebecca's favourite ride at the park
* the weather

Downsides:
* Peppa Pig world was so busy
*  Food was expensive
* Park closes at 1700

Paulton Park's Future
I would love to see Peppa Pig World expand to help with the amount of people who visit this area.  Maybe add another 5/6 rides with no height restrictions (as there are plenty out there now).
Now the Lost Kingdom has opened I would love to see Paultons add another area similar to this in 5 years.   No idea on a theme but this has proved what parks can achieve if they should wish.  I believe the area cost £9m to build which I thought was incredibly cheap!

What it cost us for the day:
Family of 3 entry (booked online): £76.25
Lunch: £19
Side Stall: £4
Ice Cream: £8
Tea: £1.65
Merchandise: £4.75
Photopass: £25
1 onride photo: £5
Total: £138.90

Would we go again:
  Yes most definitely.  Rebecca really enjoyed herself and whilst the park doesn't have massive rides there was certainly enough for her to really enjoy her day which meant we would enjoy it.  We could save a fair bit of money by taking our own food and not buying photos or merchandise when we are there.

Best Ride:  RJ loved Dino Chase.
